I know this video is of horrendous quality, but it holds quite a special place in my heart. Back 6 years ago when I first got into electronic music, this song was the one that was on constant repeat- I got it off a soundtrack that a friend lent me. This was my introduction to trance music.
One day when I left my white-screenless-ipod stick at school, I looked up “He’s a Pirate- Tiesto Mix” at home, and saw this video for the first time.Immediately, I knew with 100% certainty that this “raving” would be a major passion throughout my young life. Addicted at first peek. Now, more than 5 years later, I have been to over 35 shows, and have seen many amazing performances. And I have no less passion then when I went to my first one.
I love the scene, the celebration of life and music and dancing that this music gives us. I hope I can make it to many more shows over then next 5 years, and that the music scene here in the US will continue to prosper!
Starscape’s 14 year legacy has come to a close. A new festival has appeared in its place- Moonrise’s lineup impresses with dubstep, DnB, and house superstars. While my group and I will not be attending, I hope this festival is very successful.
Three more weeks until my 21st birthday celebration! My boyfriend and I are megabus-ing down to the nation’s capital to see international trance star Markus Schulz destroy Echostage. Recently reopened after extensive renovations, Echostage’s 3000 capacity venue is the biggest and best club in the city. I absolutely can’t wait for this event!
